Terms of Service
Effective October 4, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of theclasswemissed.com and the lessons, quizzes, forms and other content on it (together, the “Services”), which are provided by The Class We Missed (“we”, “us”, “our”). Please read them carefully.
Contents
1. Agreement to these terms
By accessing or using the Services, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.
2. Who may use the Services
The Services are free and open to everyone. Children under 13 may read lessons and take quizzes as guests, ideally with a parent or guardian, and should not submit personal information. You must be at least 18 years old to submit our volunteer form.
3. Educational content, not medical advice
Everything in the Services is general educational information. It is not medical advice, and it does not diagnose, treat or prevent any condition. Using the Services does not create a doctor–patient or other health-care provider relationship between you and us, or between you and anyone who contributes to or reviews the content.
Do not use the Services as a substitute for professional care. Do not ignore or delay seeking advice from a qualified health professional because of something you read here. Studies and statistics describe groups of people, not any one person. Talk to your doctor about your health. If you think you may be having a medical emergency, call your doctor or your local emergency number immediately.
4. Accuracy, sources and updates
We write lessons from named, cited sources, show when each lesson was last reviewed, and say where the evidence is limited. Medical knowledge changes, and despite our care, content may be incomplete, out of date or contain mistakes. Lessons marked as drafts or under review may change. We do not guarantee that the content is complete or current. Quizzes are learning aids only. They are not assessments, certifications or credentials.
5. Using the Services
You may use the Services for your own personal, non-commercial learning. You agree not to:
- use the Services in violation of any law or the rights of others;
- attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Services, our systems or other users’ information, or interfere with their operation or security;
- introduce viruses or other harmful code, or overload the Services, including with automated tools that collect content in bulk;
- submit false or misleading information through our forms; or
- present the content as medical advice from us, or suggest that we or any health professional endorses you, a product or a service.
6. Content and permitted use
The text, diagrams, images, design, names and logos on the Services belong to The Class We Missed or its contributors and licensors, and are protected by copyright and other laws. Third-party materials, including cited sources, belong to their owners.
You may view the content, link to it, and quote short excerpts with credit and a link back to the Services for non-commercial, educational purposes. Any other copying, republishing, adaptation or commercial use needs our written permission.
7. Information you submit
When you submit a form, you confirm that the information is accurate and that you are entitled to share it. We use it as described in our Privacy Policy. Signing up to volunteer does not create an employment, agency, partnership or other relationship, is unpaid unless we agree otherwise in writing, and does not guarantee that we will accept your offer. Contributions to the content will be covered by a separate written agreement.
8. Third-party links and donations
The Services link to third-party websites, including our blog on Substack and the donation page of an independent women’s health research organization. We do not operate those sites. We do not receive, process or handle donations, and we are not responsible for the content, practices or use of funds of third parties. Using a link is at your own risk and subject to the third party’s terms.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
The Services and their content are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, completeness, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, secure or error-free.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Class We Missed and the people who contribute to it will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss arising from your use of, or reliance on, the Services or their content. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Services will not exceed US$100. Some places do not allow certain limits, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
11. Changes and termination
We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the Services at any time. We may update these Terms and will post the new version here with a new effective date. If you keep using the Services after a change, you accept the updated Terms. We may restrict access to the Services for anyone who violates these Terms.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in New York County, New York, and you consent to their jurisdiction. Nothing here limits any consumer rights you have under the laws of the place where you live that cannot be waived.
13. General
These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us about the Services. If any part is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. If we do not enforce a provision, that is not a waiver of it.
